The Wellesley Celebrations Committee is gearing up for the annual Wellesley’s Wonderful Weekend, May 22nd and 23rd. Included this year are many events, from the Rotary Pancake Festival and the Wellesley Historical Society’s May Fair, to the Kiwanis Bike Safety Day plus many open houses and other events. Highlight on Sunday, May 23rd is the 36th Veterans Parade followed by activities at Hunnewell Field culminating in a grand fireworks finale.

To help with the fundraising for the parade this year the Celebrations Committee is offering a unique opportunity for everyone to buy a used US flag. Each flag, 24 l/2 X 36 l/2 cleaned and appropriately folded, is certified to having been flown over Washington Street from 1996 to 2002 during previous celebrations. Each flag is individually packaged in plastic with a certificate of authenticity, a flyer about the meaning of our Stars and Stripes and instructions on correct care and folding procedures.

There are only 142 flags and they are now available on a first come, first served basis for only $20 each.
